This is the first Cuban aperitif cocktail and it appears in the first Cuban cocktail book published in 1915 in La Havana by John B. Escalante. Made with Cointreau L'Unique, Mount Gay Silver Rum, Dry Vermouth, Grenadine, it is stirred in a chilled mixing glass and served in a coupette with orange twist for the finishing touch.
