Cointreau Margarita Challenge Terms and Conditions
ARTICLE 1: GENERAL
1.1. These general conditions apply to the competition Margarita Challenge 2026, hereinafter referred to as the “Challenge”.
1.2. The Challenge is organized by Cointreau whose registered office is located at Carrefour Molière, 49124, Saint Barthélémy d’Anjou, France, registered with the Trade and Companies’ Register of Angers under the number 582 143 384 (hereinafter the “Organizing Company") and will take place from 1 April 2026 to 30 November 2026 at 23:59 for the Cointreau Brand.
1.3. Participation in this Challenge implies full and unconditional acceptance of the provisions of these rules, including any subsequent modifications.

ARTICLE 3: CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
3.1. The Challenge is open to :
On-trade professionals or “Top Bartenders” from anywhere in the world.
3.2. The following persons may not participate in the Challenge:
- Minors or people under the legal age of their residing country;
- The staff of the Organizing Company as well as members of their close family (spouse, parents, brothers, sisters, children);
- Any person who participated in any capacity whatsoever in the organization of the Challenge, as well as members of their close family (spouse, parents, brothers, sisters, children).
3.3. Selection to participation will take place exclusively via the Internet on the Site.
Only one entry per Top Bartender (same surname, same first name, same email address, same postal address) is permitted for the entire duration of the Challenge.
3.4. Participants must read and accept these rules without reservation when registering for the Challenge, maintain a loyal attitude involving absolute respect for these provisions and the law, as well as the absence of fraud or any attempt at fraud. Participants are also required to respect the rights of other Participants.
3.5. Any person who violates one or more of the provisions of these rules will be deprived of the opportunity to participate in the Challenge, as well as any prize that they may have won.
ARTICLE 4: METHOD OF PARTICIPATION
4.1. To participate, the Top-Bartender must:
- be a on-trade professional bartender from anywhere in the world, even if not currently working. If currently not employed, then the Top-Bartender will simply need to let the Organizing Company know the name of the last bar he/she worked in;
- propose a cocktail recipe respecting the theme of the year and as explained on our website.
4.2. Any registration that is incomplete, fraudulent and/or does not comply with these rules, and/or contains inaccurate information, will not be taken into account and will invalidate the participation. Any participant thus disqualified will not be entitled to any prize. The Organizing Company then reserves the right to re-enter the prize that has been unduly awarded to it.
4.3. Any participation via a connection robot, bot, computer program or any digital or physical device likely to circumvent the rules of these regulations and/or to distort the fairness of participation between participants and/or to defraud/hack/manipulate the winner designation mechanism is prohibited and will result in the cancellation of all participations that may have benefited from this fraud and, where applicable, the outright cancellation of the Challenge.
4.4. The Organizing Company reserves the right to carry out any necessary verifications concerning the identity, address and age of participants. Any false declaration will automatically result in the participant's elimination.
ARTICLE 5: METHOD OF DETERMINING THE FINALISTS AND THE WINNER OF THE CHALLENGE
12 Finalists to the Challenge will be determined by a selection of a Jury selected by the Organizing Company and according to criteria determined by the Organizing Company, i.e.: respect of the theme of the year (40%), skills (40%), Story Telling (10%) and Picture (10%).
With the growing number of Bartenders, the Organizing Company is adapting its selection process. To do so, the Organizing Company has added 2 more seats amongst the Finalist's table of 10 Top Bartenders. The timeline of the event is as follow:• The recruitment phase will go from APRIL to MAY • An external jury will select the top 10 for each market, the first week of June.• Each market will pick his/her champion within this shortlist • Regional competition will take place in Summer from June to August• The reveal of the 10 Area champions + 1 WILD CARD + 1 ROOKIE will take place publicly in September.
THE ROOKIE• Concept: Cointreau is looking to highlight upcoming Talents accross the world• Rule: If you work in the industry for less than 2 years you can apply for the Rookie seat.
THE WILD CARD• Concept: Cointreau is aiming to highlight Women behind the bar.• Rule: This year, the bonus seat will be affected to a female bartender currently employed in a bar.
Finalists will be notified by email to the email address provided when entering the Challenge.
All messages communicated in this regard are subject to verification of the absence of fraud, malfunction and compliance with the provisions of these regulations.
Finalists must confirm receipt of this message by return email. Failure to respond within 30 (thirty) days of receipt of this message will result in the Finalist forfeiting to participate to the final competition.
Finalists will be invited to participate to the regional competition depending on his/her country of origin and eventually to the final competition in Angers, France.
ARTICLE 6: WINNER AND METHOD OF DELIVERING AWARD
6.1. Three (3) prizes are put into play in total, 1st place for the 1st Top-Bartender: 5, 000 (five thousand) euros voucher to fund a guest shift tour promoting his/her margarita and expertise / 2nd place for the 2nd Top-Bartender: 3,000 (three thousand) voucher to fund a guest shift tour promoting his/her margarita and expertise / 3rd place: 2,000 (two thousand) voucher to fund a guest shift tour promoting his/her margarita and expertise euros including tax.
The nature and the date of the guest shift tour promoting his/her margarita and expertise will be mutually agreed between the Organizing Company and the winners and must be organized within a maximum of 15 (fifteen) months following the reveal of the winners during the final competition.
6.2. Hotel, transportation or any other costs related to the travel of the winner to organize his/her guest shift tour promoting his/her margarita and expertise is included in the voucher, as part of the prize.
Winners must comply with the health standards in force in the country where the guest shift tour is organized.
6.3. The Organizing Company reserves the right to modify the prizes and replace them with prizes of an equivalent nature and/or value.
6.4. The prize is personal and cannot be transferred, transmitted, or given to a third party. It will not be taken back or exchanged for another prize.
There will be no financial compensation possible.
6.5. If for reasons beyond the control of the Organizing Company the prizes cannot be delivered to the winners, they will lose their rights to these prizes which will not be reallocated.
ARTICLE 7: LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: FORCE MAJEURE
7.1. The Organizing Company shall not be liable if, due to force majeure or circumstances beyond its control, the Challenge must be modified, shortened or cancelled. No compensation may be claimed in this regard.
7.2. The Organizing Company reserves the right in all cases to extend the Challenge or postpone the announced date.
The Organizing Company reserves the right to stop or suspend the Challenge in the event of fraud or attempted fraud.
7.3. Any dispute or claim relating to the Challenge or its rules will only be taken into consideration within one month of the closing of the Challenge.
7.4. The Organizing Company cannot be held responsible in the event of incorrect delivery of the email or in the event of interruption of internet communications or alteration of participations (network communication, network interruption).
7.5. Participation in the Challenge implies knowledge and acceptance by participants of the characteristics, limitations and risks of the technologies used by the Internet and related technologies, in particular with regard to technical performance, response times for consulting, querying or transferring information, the risks of interruption and, more generally, the risks inherent in any connection or transmission, the lack of protection of certain data against possible misappropriation and the risks of contamination by possible viruses circulating on the network, without the Organizing Company being liable for this.
7.6. The Organizing Company cannot be held responsible in the event of technical or human failures of telecommunications operators, nor in the event of malfunction of the internet network, nor in the event of temporary or lasting technical breakdown.
Also, in the event of any technical malfunction, the Organizing Company reserves the right, if necessary, to invalidate and/or cancel the Challenge without incurring any liability as a result.
The Organizing Company will make every effort to allow access to the Site, without being bound by an obligation to do so. The Organizing Company may, at any time, particularly for technical reasons, interrupt access to the Site, without incurring any liability as a result.
7.7. The Organizing Company reserves the right to stop or suspend the Challenge in the event of fraud or in any case where, for any reason whatsoever, the computer system awards prizes not provided for in these rules. In these cases, the messages informing participants of a win will be considered null and void. Under no circumstances may the number of prizes exceed that provided for in these rules.
The messages provided to participants on the Site at the time of their participation are automatic and communicated subject to verification by the Organizing Company of compliance with all the provisions of these rules, the absence of fraud or any malfunction.
ARTICLE 8: FILING OF THESE CHALLENGE RULES

ARTICLE 9: AUTHORIZATION AND ASSIGNMENT OF RIGHTS
Each Participant, each Finalist and each Winner authorize the Organizing Company to use their name, address and photograph for advertising purposes, without this conferring on them any remuneration, right or benefit other than the participation to this Challenge, Regional and awarding of the prize for the winners. The use of these elements will be possible exclusively within the framework of the promotion of the Challenge by the Organizing Company worldwide and for a maximum period of 3 (three) years from the first use.

ARTICLE 11: MODIFICATION – CANCELLATION OF THE CHALLENGE
The Organizing Company reserves the right to shorten, postpone, modify, extend, interrupt or simply cancel the Challenge, without notice, due to any event beyond its control and in particular in the event of force majeure, without its liability being incurred in this regard and without any compensation of any nature whatsoever being due to any participant.
ARTICLE 12: PERSONAL DATA
Personal data are collected and processed by Cointreau for the purpose of the organization of the Challenge and for promotional and marketing purposes of the brand Cointreau through online and digital media
Each personal data will be retained for a period of three years. Each participant has the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, portability of his/her personal data the Organizing Company holds about you to the extent applicable, unless being able to demonstrate a compelling legitimate reason for retaining the personal data. ARTICLE 14: APPLICATION OF THE REGULATIONS
If one or more provisions of these regulations were declared null or inapplicable, the other clauses would retain their full force and scope.
ARTICLE 15: APPLICABLE LAW
These rules, as well as the entire Challenge and the relations between the Organizing Company and the participants, are subject to French law.
