Transitioning to fall cocktails

Transitioning to fall cocktails

From fresh and fruity summer cocktails to rich, comforting fall flavors, here’s how to transition
like a pro.

  1. Swap your spirits for something darker and more complex. If this summer was about vodkas and flirty gins, try exploring more robust gins, dark rums, and whiskeys.
  2. Keep enjoying those citrus wedge garnishes and fresh mint muddles. The freshness will help keep things light as you transition into more robust spirits.
  3. Grill your fruit garnishes for an extra layer of elegance.
  4. A dash of your favorite spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg adds dimension to your creations, and will bridge the gap towards fall’s savory flavors.

How to infuse vodka and other liquors

How to infuse vodka and other liquors

Creative cocktails begin with the ingredients, and an infused spirit delivers depth and
complexity like no other.

  1. Choose a flavor profile and spirit. Vodka has a clean flavor profile making it a versatile spirit however other spirits can be infused such as rum which goes well with tropical flavors.
  2. Add as much fruit to a mason jar as you like, using aromatics sparingly as they can be overpowering. Top with the spirit.
  3. Seal the jar. Smell and taste the infusion once per day until satisfied. The process can take anywhere from one day to one week.
  4. Strain into a clean container and store in a cool, dark place. Your infusion should last forever!
