This is probably the first cocktail created in New York with Cointreau. The recipe was published in 1917 by Hugo Ensslin. Made with Cointreau L'Unique, Rye Whiskey, Red Dubonnet, Peychaud'S Bitters, it is stirred in a chilled mixing glass and served in a wine glass with orange twist for the finishing touch.
