A very appealing 19th century cocktail, invented in 1878 by Leo Engel at the Criterion in London. It was a twist on the Brandy Crusta.

  • 15.00 ml Cointreau
  • 45.00 ml Rémy Martin V.S.O.P cognac
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 5.00 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 5.00 ml sugar

how to make a Alabazam cocktail

  • Step 1

    Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker

  • Step 2

    Add ice and shake until well-chilled

  • Step 3

    Strain into a chilled Old Fashioned glass

  • Step 4

    Garnish with an orange wedge
